    Friday Sitting On Anything Cold
Is this a lost Creation Records release from the early '90s? Better. It's the brilliant first effort from Indonesian shoegaze band Friday. Whether blissfully floating to opening song "Sinery" or violently whiplashing to fuzzy-dream guitars on the title track, you'll find all kinds of magic to please your ears here.

This mysterious Indonesian shoegaze band wins the Most Likely To Succeed From The Least Likely Place Award, thanks to their consistently beautiful and haunting debut album "Sitting On Anything Cold."
The title track is an ass-kicking whiplasher that I simply must see performed live someday. Opening track "Sinery" is the type of song that was made for closing your eyes and feeling like you're floating. And "Mind To Get Close" is the sort of monster epic that carries you away for seven minutes, then inspires you to start it over and take the ride again.
Get this album if you can find it. You won't believe your ears.
